In this day and age of pressure to achieve big things, I urge you to find the joy in starting with something small. Working with your hands to create even the smallest of projects can be calming, meditative, productive, and joyful! All the projects you see here began with a small action. With a nod to the industrial style, an aluminum panel was cut to fit as trim for the front of this bench seat. Because of the long length, the top is divided into three sections for easy access, attached in the center with a piano hinge. The two end sections just lift off.
I built this frame for my sister-in-law’s bedroom after seeing something similar at Joanne’s. There was a learning curve for me in trying to get two rectangles to be spaced perfectly together. Looked simple enough from the get go, but It took me a couple of tries to get it right.
